In January 2020, we at Sean Carr Lining were delighted to be chosen by a dairy farm landowner to install a sizeable slurry lagoon at his dairy farm in Scotland.
The project.
We want no hidden surprises for the landowner part way through a job, so we gather extensive information regarding the ground conditions at the site as part of our quote process. The slurry lagoon farm was to span an area of 2000m2 . For such an area and ground type, we recommended a 2mm High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Geomembrane liner to complete the job to a standard that would contain the slurry required and ensure integrity over time. We worked within the budget set for the project by the client. We were also aware that installations are time and budget critical on a working dairy farm and our ongoing commitment to customer service ensures that we sought to leave the client happy.
Our work
Our highly competitive quote was accepted, and work began. The slurry lagoon farm supply and installation contract was carried out with the landowner being confident that our quality of work from BGA certified team would give him both the confidence and assurance that our installations and customer service are of the highest quality. Our work is regularly inspected as part of our continued BGA accreditation; he had the security of knowing we are great at what we do. This slurry lagoon supply and installation took our team of four technicians a little over 3 days to install and before leaving we carried out full seam testing and certification processes.
Our process
Carrying out installations such as this slurry lagoon farm requires a team of highly skilled and experienced members, each being TWI/CSWIP certified technicians. We also ensure our teams are trained further to provide exceptionally high-quality service to our clients for slurry lagoon supply and installation. Carrying out installations that are both safe and respectful of the land is important to us. We ensure our teams receive further training in Abrasive Wheels, Manual Handling, Slingers, EUSR (Blue Water Hygiene), Safepass and working within confined spaces, as this can be a large part of their day and first aid to name just a few.
