Slurry Covers

Our geomembrane lining farm slurry lagoon covers are rainproof to prevent water ingress into the slurry contents. They are installed onsite by TWI/CSWIP certified plastic welders with many years’ experience in the agricultural sector. Installing a floating slurry lagoon cover also prevents evaporation and unwanted algae and organism growth from contaminating slurry.

Since the start of 2021, there is a legal requirement for existing slurry lagoons to be covered and all new or enlarged slurry storage lagoons must be covered before use. As well as the legal requirements, covering a slurry lagoon stops the odours that can cause problems, particularly when situated close to residential areas or nearby villages. Preventing the slurry contents from mixing with rainwater reduces the loss of nitrogen from the liquid and maximises the storage capacity, as wells as reducing the risk of contamination from bird droppings and other unwanted debris.
